Module Synopsis
This module covers the principles, purpose and function of Standard Method of Measurement (SMM2) including measurement principles, descriptions and standard phraseology. It also covers the measurement of simple excavation trenches, pits, foundations, pilecaps, reinforced concrete frame and floors including roof slabs.
The students are introduced to the principles of specification writing, form of specification and their uses in the various trades and an introductory understanding of the preparation of Bills of Quantities and Tender Document.
This module also concentrates on the history and development of the role of the quantity surveying profession in the construction industry and to appreciate the role of a quantity surveyor in every stage of a construction project
Module Synopsis
This module intends to inform the students the relevant physical and chemical properties of a wide range of building materials. It also encompasses the broad environmental debate by including energy saving and recycled materials.
For each material, the module describes the manufacturing process, salient properties and typical uses of these materials, with aims of ensuring their appropriate application within the awareness of the suitability of the physical and chemical properties as well as ecological impact.
Student will undergo a series of continuous assessment such as assignment, test and final exam to ascertain the learning outcomes of the module are achieved.

This module intends to provide understanding of a wide range of building components with different functions.
It also describes the design process, how to build the elements and some simple sketches.
Student will undergo continuous assessments such as assignments and tests to ascertain the objectives and to make sure that the learning outcome of the module is achieved.
Introduction to Law
Module Synopsis
This module intends to give students an understanding of the basics in law starting from Malaysian Legal System, Contract Law as well as Tort.
While in Malaysian Legal System introduces the legal system used in Malaysia, Contract Law focuses on the contractual legal system from the area of offer to remedies used in contract law. Tort introduces the wrong could be committed without contractual relationship as well as its liability to be sued under tort.
Students will undergo tests to ascertain the objective and to make sure the learning outcome of the module is achieved.
